My Small-scale, Hand-made, Rainbow Wedding

Not that anyone has been monitoring, but I haven't posted lately. . ok, at all.

I thought with the free time I had, I could throw some ideas out onto the internet.

Most of the inspiration came from the movie, "My Big Fat Greek Wedding".
I'm not Greek, one of the lines from the movie is that people wish they were Greek (sometimes I feel that way, but then I remember how much I love Norweigan cooking).  It started me thinking about families.  There are families that I see around are either close knit legitimately or they're close knit, but built on a foundation of lies, fake smiles, and unresolved family issues.  I realize not everyone will be "perfect", but I think it's more of a, "Is the grass greener." scenario.  You wonder if the fake family is happy.

The second rotation of ideas in my head is weddings.  Since my fiance and I confirmed a date :) TBA (I smile so much every time I say or type that).  I have been in wedding planning mode.  This is where family and wedding ideas collide.  Our plans are to have a close knit, intimate wedding.  No theme, no limo, no bar hopping, just what we want and if the guests don't like it, there's the door.  Mean? No, a wedding that we will be proud of and enjoy.
I'm making my own dress and the bouquet is already done (pics hopefully coming soon).  Dress style?  I don't know about that, but there's going to be a rainbow on the front and rainbow streamers down the side :) It's hard to explain, but on paper, it's beautiful!

My dress will not make me look like a snow beast.

It feels good to share ideas.  Thanks for reading!

  1. Good to hear about your services. I am searching for wedding venues chicago for my friend’s wedding in couple of months. Managed to shortlist few venues online and will be finalizing one after consulting them. Hope they will like the venues.
